Job Description
Introduction
Our client is looking for an experienced site owner for their gaming and social network platform.
Your responsibilities will include assuring effective user interaction and user centred functionalities across the platform. You will be driving platform development from a usability perspective. You will be collaborating with our client’s different stake holders to align business requirements and support all types of integration at the platform. The stake holders represent marketing, product, customer support and payment among others.
In addition, you will be leading a customer panel supporting our client’s continuous interaction with users.
You will work closely with their creative design team.
Qualifications
They are seeking a candidate with multiple years of experience in the area of user interaction including extensive experience translating a wide type of analysis and user stories into effective user interaction.
You should be curious to understand trends in digital media and be able to translate these into viable business propositions further strengthening user interaction and user centred functionalities at the platform.
More specifically your skills should include;
• In depth knowledge of User Experience Design principles, Human Factors, Human and User-Centred Design Processes, Interaction Design guidelines, Usability Testing Methodologies, web-industry standards and trends, pl0atform standards, software development process and prototyping/design.
• Ability to create, run and analyze usability and eye tracking tests and incorporate results into overall UX design.
• Ability to review requirements, specifications, business processes necessary to derive a proposed solution.
• Experience building and writing design deliverables to effectively communicate functional behaviour to stakeholders.
• Sensitivity to the physical, cognitive, emotional, environmental, social, and cultural needs of users.
• Ability to work cross-discipline with creative, technology, strategy and marketing functions.
• Ability to effectively negotiate conflict and persuade others on the merits of a design or other user experience solution.
• Ability to assess, prioritize and make trade-offs against business, technical, and user constraints.
• Proficient using design tools such as OmniGrafffle, Fireworks, Photoshop, DreamWeaver, and MS Visio.
• HTML, XHTML and CSS coding, with a basic understanding of Flash and action script.
• Ability to manipulate and create graphics using Photoshop/Fireworks.
• Create interactive prototypes using Fireworks or Dreamweaver.
• Strategic thinking and ensure great attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a dynamic multidisciplinary team.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and initiatives.
Role and responsibilities
• Accountability for the vision, strategy and execution of user experience and user centred functionalities at the platform and the alignment with brand and business objectives.
• Establish level of effort estimates and manage priorities based on data analysis and return expectations.
• Evaluate effectiveness of new projects, features, performance metrics, customer feedback, competitive landscape, and industry standard best practices to evolve and continuously improve usability.
• Perform the necessary research for each project including ethnography, competitive analysis and participatory exercises.
• Develop storyboards, wireframes, sitemaps/flows, user flows, navigational models, prototypes and other documentation to illustrate concepts.
• Research and perform competitive analysis when approaching new projects.
• Work intimately with the design team and stakeholders to ensure design and usability meet business requirements.
• Conducts and analyzes usability testing and eye tracking testing.
Education
BA/BS or advanced degree preferred in Human Factors, Human-Computer Interaction, Cognitive Psychology, or a related field or demonstrated comparable experience designing interactive products and solutions is preferred.
