Job Description :
Reporting to the IT Director, the Systems Administrator will form part of an operational team that is responsible for the day to day care and maintenance of all our client's computing environments. This includes responsibility for the maintenance of hardware, local area networks, wide area networks, operating systems and applications.
Responsibilities:
• User Administration and support
• E-mail and list administration (including bulk mailing, white-listing and spam control)
• Database administration and support
• Firewall & VPN Administration
• Remote User Support
• PABX Systems administration.
• Network Monitoring using basic windows tools
• Desktop computer (Windows 2000, XP and Vista) maintenance, administration and trouble shooting (Anti-spyware, Antivirus, backup etc.)
Essential Skills and Attributes:
• Well rounded knowledge of Information Technology, including but not limited to operating systems
• Strong knowledge of troubleshooting and problem resolution techniques
• SQL skills
• Good understanding of TCP/IP and VB Script /Javascript or command shell scripting
• Understanding and experience of Security Issues and Elements (Certificates, Public/Private keys)
• Understanding and experience of Active Directory and its administration
• Load balancing
• Excellent communication skills
• Customer service focus
• Calm, professional demeanor
Education and Experience:
• Degree or equivalent qualification and at least 3 years hands-on previous experience in a similar role operating a 24x7x365 enterprise environment
• A proven track record of excellent academic and professional achievement.
• MCP/ MCSA in Windows 2003/2008 will be an advantage.
