Job purpose
The purpose of this role is to provide customer and business insight through web data-analysis, defining reporting and using ad-hoc analysis of online user behaviour, transactional activity, site performance indicators and other key metrics to optimise the customer experience and to drive effective online decision-making.
Ensure new site developments are effectively tracked and monitored ensuring that key indicators are reported and communicated.
Assist with web site investigations, testing, and customer surveys & studies, providing insight and evidence to make recommendations; support improvements; and to resolve website issues.
You will ensure you understand the scope of the system change and the business requirements so that effective testing and reporting may be executed as required.
Principle Accountabilities
• Specify and project manage implementation of tracking tags across all websites
• Ensure all required reporting measures are in place to accurately establish and communicate the impact of each new site development
• Work closely with product managers and key stakeholders in order to define and automate website/customer behaviour reporting helping them to identify site enhancements
• Communicate insights and inspire positive actions to key stakeholders
• Analyse traffic from multiples sources to identify how best to optimise conversion across the site
• Proactively mine data and conduct analysis to improve conversion, customer retention and customer profitability from the site design, product and mapped customer journeys
• Provide ad hoc analysis into specific issues regarding site usage behaviour making recommendations where possible
• Investigate known issues and changes to KPI's/trends in order to understand cause and impact
• Assist with multivariate, usability and UAT testing to ensure changes optimise the customer experience
• Manage the reporting portfolio and their distribution list
• Monitor availability and performance based on online KPI's, reporting on the impact of any degradation/improvements
• Provide weekly reporting updates and consolidate these for the monthly reporting and analysis
Qualifications, Skills and Experience
Essential:
• Excellent presentation and verbal/written communication skills
• Experience of web analytics solutions (eg. Unica; Omniture; Google Analytics)
• Highly numerate and commercially aware
• Demonstrable customer-centric thinking, understands online customer behaviour, and user experience. Proven track record in web best practices and web conversion metrics.
• Online marketing experience; ppc, seo, campaign measurement and optimization.
• Self-motivated and enthusiastic approach to work.
• Excellent Excel and MS office skills
Desirable:
• Excellent working knowledge of successful e-commerce web sites, ideally in an equally highly transactional environment – previous experience gained in a Sport-betting and online-gaming industry would be an advantage
• Business acumen in order to align online goals with overall business goals
• Experience with reporting tools and methodologies (eg: SQL, and other BI tools)Experience in working with large data sets, writing queries, structuring reports, data validation and investigation, and linking different data sources.
• Good understanding of website technologies such as javascript, AJAX , CMS advantageous - in order to manage tagging requirements and understand core website functionality
