Our client, part of a global Broadcasting/Media giant, requires an Assistant Operations Manager for initial 3 month contract duration. This is a hands on Management role where you will be responsible for leading a small team as well as providing strategic IT vision and acting as an escalation point for the team of Systems Operators.

This role has been created to support the current Operations Manager, who is required to develop a different area of the business. Although initially for a period of 3 months, there is a high probability that this could extend for longer.

To be considered for this role, candidates must have the majority of the following skills and experience:

* Technical operations management/team leadership experience, ideally across at least 2 medium-large scale projects
* Excellent understanding of technical operations set-up, ideally in 'start-up' environment
* A desire to stay abreast of new technologies - my client is constantly investing in new technology and the IT Operations Manager will act as a driving force during implementations.
* Ability to plan, implement and support IT infrastructure in a complex multi-divisional, international environment.
* Preferable knowledge of the workings of on-line retail applications.
* Excellent oral and written communication skills
* Excellent Business Customer & Supplier facing skills
* Knowledge of and exposure to web based applications
* Advantageous to have experience or interest of working in Gaming industry, or EPOS.
* Advantageous to have experience of Oracle Clustering
