Job Role
The primary focus of this role is to drive and increase our client’s business by selling to prospective international companies across allocated market sectors.
Key Responsibilities/Tasks
Please note that these duties and responsibilities are a guideline and by no means comprehensive. Additional tasks may be added on from time to time at the discretion of your Manager/ Director.
1. Ensure you are fully knowledgeable of services / products offered and update this knowledge on a regular basis.
2. Prospect new business opportunities within allocated sectors. This will necessitate research into the sectors and identification of key companies to target.
3. Drive prospective companies through rigorous sales cycle process ensuring qualification criteria are effectively used at each step.
4. Work to understand the main drivers affecting the prospective companies – particularly those based in allocated sectors - and how best to pitch our client’s solutions as a result.
5. Work with prospects to understand their key business drivers and requirements in order to develop appropriate solutions that meet their needs.
6. Successfully navigate and penetrate prospects’ organisations to understand their decision making processes and who should be targeted in order to effectively sell into them.
7. Work closely with the rest of the company to ensure that new merchants are effectively brought on board and revenue generating.
8. Regularly report against sales pipeline, key milestones and expected increased revenues from activities.
9. Feedback to the product management/development teams any required product enhancements in line with target market requirements.
10. Ensure that basic defined customer data is entered into the CRM tool on an ongoing regular basis.
Experience / Knowledge Required
• Minimum 5 year’s commercial/sales experience in hi-tech environment (payments industry experience a definite advantage)
• Experience working in a company with commitment to a metric-driven, quantitative sales process with demonstrable results
• New business sales experience with demonstrable success at managing accounts through a structured prospecting process
• Understanding of the main drivers affecting the industry and the ability to articulate these in detail
Technical Skills
• Good interpersonal and communication skills (including presentation skills)
• Strong customer orientation
• Successful negotiation skills
• Ability to build excellent relationships both internally and externally
• Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
• Degree level qualification desirable
• Ability to translate technical product specification into sales messages for prospects
