Job Description
Job Purpose
Due to growth our client is seeking a strong Business Development Manager to fill this new and challenging role by researching the payment solutions available you will have an in-depth knowledge of regional and country specific solutions. By presenting case studies and the end-results of your research you will suggest which payment solutions will be most effective for the company, negotiate the contract with the processor and set them in place for the solution to be implemented within the cashier. Your skills in terms of knowledge and ability to deliver the right solutions in the US market will already be fine tuned by your in-depth experience of this.
This role will require the excellent attention to detail and a sound knowledge of payment processing in the North American ecommerce sector. The candidate must be strong with multi-tasking and comfortable running several projects simultaneously. Owing to the difference in time zones the right candidate will also be expected to work as reasonably expected so as to manage contacts within the US business day.
Key Responsibilities
• Methodically contact US banking and financial institutions with the aim of establishing processing relationships that are viable according to federal and state law
• Work with in-house legal to determine the viability of any proposed processing and ensure its compliance with internal standards and requirements
• Establish the relationship with the new financial institutions and any payment service providers required in the setup
• Compare solutions which are available with competitors and highlight gaps and areas of improvements as needed
• Negotiate the contract with the supplier and carry out all required due diligence checks
• Transition the relationship to Product Management so that the solution can be implemented within the cashier
Skills and Capabilities - Essential
• At least five years relevant experience within the payment processing sector with a strong focus on business development and or relationship management
• Excellent hands-on knowledge of US online processing and in particular; ACH, demand drafts, Check21, snail mail cheques and wires
• Proactive, independent individual with the ability to focus on the task and grind out a result by being methodical and results focussed
• Proven ability in starting business relationships and ability to negotiate
• An ability to deliver high quality work under pressure of tight deadlines.
