Following news that Wayne Bridge has made himself unavailable for selection by England, Sky Bet have revised their World Cup squad selection odds as well as the betting on who will start at left-back against the USA on June 12.

Injured Ashley Cole remains 1/3 favourite to start at left-back in England’s opener in Rustenburg but with likely replacement Bridge now out of the frame, Sky Bet have cut Aston Villa’s Stephen Warnock’s odds of starting to 6/1 (from 8/1). Everton defender Leighton Baines is 8/1 (from 10/1) to fill the left-back void and Joleon Lescott is 12/1 (from 16/1).

Sky Bet’s football betting spokesman Dale Tempest said: “If Cole is fit and playing then surely he’ll start at left-back but with a major injury to overcome and of course his personal problems to resolve, things may not be quite so straight forward.”
