'Big Four' Specials
17 October 2008

Saturday sees the Premier League’s ‘Big Four’ (Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool) all in action and Sky Bet are offering a wide range of special markets on the titans of the top flight, including odds on which team will score most goals, with Manchester United, who entertain West Brom, 6/5 favourites. It’s 5/2 for all four clubs to win their respective games on Saturday, 5/1 for them all to keep a clean sheet and 5/6 for them to concede fewer than 2.5 goals in total. 5/6 is offered for the ‘Big Four’ to score a combined total of over 9.5 goals.
After winning four of their first five games, Arsenal’s campaign has since stuttered, with a defeat to Premier League newcomers Hull and a draw with Sunderland. Sky Bet are offering odds on which club will be next to beat the Gunners and make Everton 17/2 to take three points on Saturday. It’s 1/2 for Arsene Wenger’s men to end the season potless.
Reigning champions Manchester United currently lie 8th in the league but Sky Bet still quote 1/2 for the ‘Big Four’ to occupy the top four places in the table at season-end (6/4 not to). Manchester United are 14/1 to defend both their domestic and European titles this term.
Divisional pacesetters Chelsea are 6/1 to achieve the Premier League and Champions League double. Didier Drogba has announced that he is now settled at Stamford Bridge and Sky Bet make him 4/7 still to be a Chelsea player at the start of next season.
Liverpool, who have made their best start to a season since 1996, are 125/1 to do the quadruple with Sky Bet. The Reds entertain Wigan on Saturday and Sky Bet quote 6/1 for Emile Heskey to join Liverpool during the January transfer window, following rumours that the England forward is poised to make a surprise return to the club.
