Following the announcement of the 14 teams that will compete in Super League 2009, Sky Bet have released prices on who will win the regular season and who will finish bottom. Current league leaders, St Helens, are 5/2 favourites to win the regular season, with title holders, Leeds, 11/4 second favourites.
Celtic Crusaders and Salford have been awarded licences and Sky Bet have installed the newcomers at even money and 9/4 respectively for the wooden spoon.
Sky Bet’s rugby league compiler, Dave Sykes, said, “Celtic were competing in National League 2 two seasons ago but with a good recruitment drive for2009 the Crusaders could be competitive and avoid the wooden spoon in their debut season.”
