Andy Murray’s odds of winning Wimbledon have been lengthened to 6/1 (from 5/1) following his third-round defeat to Mardy Fish at Queen’s. The defending champion was unhappy after the match was stopped due to bad light yesterday evening but had been expected to beat the American soon after play resumed this afternoon.
Roger Federer remains Sky Bet’s 5/4 favourite to retain his Wimbledon title, while Rafa Nadal has been backed down to 9/4 from 100/30 following his victory at the French Open.
The SW19 betting is completely dominated by the duo and Sky Bet have this week lengthened the odds of Murray’s fellow third-round casualties Andy Roddick and Novak Djokovic to 11/1 (from 10/1) and 16/1 (from 14/1) respectively.
Sky Bet’s tennis betting spokesman Chris Kennedy said: “Murray has looked well short of form and confidence at Queen's this week and we have been forced to push him out to 6s for Wimbledon.
“So far, punters only want to know about Federer and Nadal for the title and we will be hoping for any other winner to get a bumper win."
