Playboy Enterprises Inc. will launch two entertainment and gambling facilities in Macau, under a joint licensing agreement with the Las Vegas Sands Corp giving the iconic U.S. leisure and entertainment brand a stake in the world's biggest gambling hub, the companies said in a statement Friday. Plans are to open a Playboy-inspired club by year-end on the top level of the Sands Macao. The 12,000-square-foot club will feature entertainment and gambling facilities geared towards high rollers, as well as Playboy Bunnies and Playboy artwork. A 30,000-square-foot Playboy Mansion is slated to be housed in the giant hotel and gambling complex Sands is building on the Cotai Strip, a zone located on an outlying island that takes its design themes from the Las Vegas Strip. The second club is scheduled to open in the first quarter of 2012. Shares of the U.S. gaming group's Chinese subsidiary, Sands China Ltd. were up 3.5% in mid-morning trade in Hong Kong.
