The European golf Tour heads to Spain this week with a strong field participating in the Madrid Masters at the Real Sociedad Hipica Espanola Club de Campo. The Madrid Masters betting is dominated by the first six players in the list and Sky Bet are offering a top price of 9/4 that one of the ‘big six’ (Luke Donald, Martin Kaymer, Sergio Garcia, Alvaro Quiros, Francesco Molinari and Alejandro Canizares) wins the event.

It’s 1/3 that the winner comes from the rest of the field.

Sky Bet's golf betting expert Andy Thorp said: "With doubts over both the form of some of the top six players and their suitability to the course, we are quite happy to take them on and have boosted the price of the first six in the betting providing the winner to 9/4 (from 2/1). It would be no surprise if the winner was something of an outsider."

The top six in the betting have all been well backed this week, with 13/1 favourite Luke Donald a popular bet after he came runner-up in last week’s BMW PGA Championship.

Home favourite Alvaro Quiros (20/1) has also been well supported, as well as and Germany’s Martin Kaymer (15/1).

Spain’s Sergio Garcia returns to the European tour for the first time since the Masters and will be looking to gain some much-needed Ryder Cup points He is 18/1 third favourite to win his fourth European Tour event on home soil.
