As voters went to the polls so punters went to the bookies to bet that Gordon Brown would be out of office as Labour leader before the weekened. William Hill have cut their odds for Mr Brown to stand down before Saturday from 4/6 to 4/7 and lengthened his chances of surviving beyond that from 5/4 to 13/10. 'Noone seems very optimistic about Mr Brown's chances of continuing to be Labour Leader, let alone PM, beyond Friday' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
Hills are currently offering 8/13 for a Hung Parliament - slightly longer odds than when polling began - with the Conservartives in from 6/4 to 6/5 to win an outright majority, with Labour 10/1 to do so and the Lib Dems 45/1.
WILLIAM HILL HAVE TAKEN A BET OF £2500 FOR DAVID MILIBAND TO SUCCESS GORDON BROWN AS PARTY LEADER AND HAVE CUT HIS ODDS FROM 7/4 TO 5/4 FAVOURITE.
