Sky Bet have installed Avram Grant as a 6/1 chance in their next West Ham manager betting amid reports that the Pompey boss is on a four-strong shortlist to succeed Gianfranco Zola. Zola’s position at Upton Park is coming under increasing scrutiny and Sky Bet now make him 1/5 to move on this summer.
Also rumoured to be in the running is ex-England boss Steve McClaren, former Hammers star Slaven Bilic, and former Tottenham manager Martin Jol.
Sky Bet make McClaren, who is on the brink of clinching the Eredivisie title with FC Twente, 3/1 second favourite for the Hammers’ hot seat, while Croatia manager Bilic is a 6/1 chance and Jol an outsider at 50/1. Glenn Hoddle is 5/6 favourite to take the reins after being backed heavily for the job last month.
West Ham co-owner David Sullivan is said to be planning a radical squad shake-up this summer, warning that every player, with the exception of in-form midfielder Scott Parker, is up for sale. Sky Bet go 6/4 that star players Matthew Upson, Carlton Cole and Robert Green all leave the club during the summer transfer window.
Sky Bet also go 10/1 that Scott Parker makes Fabio Capello’s 23-man squad for the World Cup finals.
