Alex-ferguson

Sir Alex Ferguson is now 4/6 to end his glittering reign as Manchester United manager next summer following reports that he has told the board “One more season and I’m out.”

It’s 5/1 that football’s most successful manager stays another two seasons at Old Trafford and 5/1 that he’s still at the helm for the start of the 2012/13 season.

Jose Mourinho is Sky Bet’s 11/4 early favourite in the next Manchester United manager betting, while home grown talent Martin O’Neill and David Moyes are 9/2 joint second favourites.

Pep Guardiola, who has so far led Barcelona to six trophies, has been cut to 12/1 (from 20/1) for the job, while England boss Fabio Capello is 8/1 to take up Fergie’s mantle.

Sky Bet’s football betting spokesman Dale Tempest said: “Saying Fergie would be difficult to replace would be the understatement of the century. He is simply Mr Manchester United and perhaps only someone like Mourinho could possibly fill his shoes.”

Sky Bet make Ferguson 8/13 to lead the Red Devils to another major trophy and it’s 200/1 that he retires on a high next season with his charges winning an unprecedented quadruple.
