On the eve of the Masters, Sky Bet have pushed out Tiger Woods’ odds of claiming a fifth title to 11/2 (from 5/1).

Earlier this week, Woods’ confident performance in front of the world’s media sparked a major gamble in the 2010 Masters betting, forcing down his odds of taking victory in his first major since last November to 4/1. However, Sky Bet have since lengthened his odds of claiming victory at Augusta to 11/2, although he remains the worst result for the Harrogate-based firm.

Whilst the world number one has been a popular bet to take the title, he has also been backed at 4/1 to mark his comeback by missing the cut. Sky Bet also go 15/2 that Woods gets off to a bad start by hitting into the bunker on the first hole when he tees off at 18.42 BST on Thursday.

Woods has been paired with Matt Kuchar and KJ Choi for the first two rounds and Sky Bet make Woods 8/11 to win his 36-hole 3-ball, with South Korea’s Choi an 11/4 chance and Florida-born Kuchar also 11/4.

Sky Bet’s golf betting spokesman John Rhodes said: “Woods has been backed in all our Masters markets, not only to win but to do badly as well. Today, he has been largely friendless and his off-field troubles have even seen him well supported at 4/1 to miss the cut when normally he would be around a 12/1 chance to do so.”
