England manager Fabio Capello will confirm his 23-man World Cup squad on June 1 and Sky Bet are offering odds on who will be on the plane to South Africa on June 2.

Following Ashley Cole’s injury and Wayne Bridge’s withdrawal, Sky Bet have cut the odds of Everton’s Leighton Baines making the squad to 5/6 (from 6/4).

Baines will be vying with Aston Villa’s Stephen Warnock to fill the left-back void if Ashley Cole is not fit and Sky Bet go 5/6 that Warnock features in the final squad.

Stoke defender Ryan Shawcross got a surprise call-up for the friendly against Egypt and Sky Bet make him a 5/4 chance to win a place on the plane to South Africa.

Theo Walcott will get his chance tonight to win his World Cup place as England’s right-winger and has been cut to 5/6 (from 6/4) to make the final squad. Joe Cole, who was not named in Capello’s squad to face Egypt, has been lengthened to evens (from 4/6).

Sky Bet’s football betting spokesman Dale Tempest said: “It’s great to see so many England players desperate to be part of Capello’s squad. The Italian’s no-nonsense discipline means that not one single England player is guaranteed a trip to South Africa.”
