Darts betting specialists Sky Bet are delighted to announce that they will be the official bookmaker of the Whyte & Mackay Premier League Darts.

The league gets underway on Thursday at The O2 Arena and the Harrogate-based firm have produced over 100 pre-tournament betting markets and will offer eight in-play markets on every match.

Sky Bet’s PR Director Dale Tempest said: “This is a great opportunity for Sky Bet to take our longstanding association with the PDC a step further and cement our position in the industry as a leading provider of darts betting opportunities.”

Four-time Premier League champion Phil Taylor is Sky Bet’s 2/5 favourite to take the 2010 crown, while last year’s champion James Wade is 7/1 second favourite, with Raymond van Barneveld next best at 10/1. 2010 World Championship runner-up Simon Whitlock has come in for early support and Sky Bet have cut his odds of winning the league at his first attempt to 12/1 (from 14/1).

Sky Bet’s chief darts compiler Craig Ibbotson said: “Taylor again looks the form horse going into the tournament but it’s certainly the strongest field ever assembled and every point will have to be earned.

“Debutant Simon Whitlock could be the lively player in the market if he maintains his awesome World Championship form and he has come in for early support.”

A wide range of special markets are available and after Taylor hit 56 maximums in the league last year, Sky Bet offer 3/1 for the world number one again to record the most 180’s. Adrian Lewis is Sky Bet’s 7/4 favourite to hit the most tournament 180’s, with debutant Simon Whitlock a 4/1 chance.

Sky Bet also go 100/30 that this year sees a new champion crowned, while it’s 1/5 that former winners Taylor or Wade take the title again.

5/4 is on offer for any player to record a magical 9-dart finish (4/7 no 9 darter) and it’s evens for there to be 386 or more 180’s hit during the course of the competition (8/11 385 or fewer).
