Carlo Ancelotti is prepared to give John Terry time off if he requests a break to resolve personal issues and Sky Bet are offering odds on Terry missing Chelsea’s FA Cup clash with Cardiff on February 13th. Terry is an even money chance to start the game and 8/11 to miss the match.
Sky Bet’s football betting spokeswoman Helen Jacob said: “With more revelations rumoured to be on the way and reports that Terry wants some time out, we make it slight favourite that he fails to start against Cardiff and spends the Valentine’s weekend with his wife instead.”
The Blues missed the chance to go four points clear at the top of the table by drawing 1-1 at Hull on Tuesday and Sky Bet have eased their odds of winning the league to 8/11 (from 4/7). Chelsea are 5/2 to win by three points or fewer.
Terry’s odds of retaining the England captaincy for England’s next match against African Cup of Nations champions Egypt on March 3 have been cut to 4/7 (from 8/11) ahead of potential talks with Fabio Capello later this week.
