The rematch between Bernard Hopkins and Roy Jones Jr will take place on April 3, 17 years after their original bout, and Sky Bet make Hopkins, nicknamed ‘The Executioner’, 1/5 to get his revenge on Jones, who won their first meeting by unanimous decision. It’s 17/2 for Hopkins to knock Jones out and 4/5 for him to win on points.
Jones wants to earn the nickname of ‘The Terminator’ for this fight and is the 7/2 outsider to win the encounter and 12/1 to win again by unanimous decision.
Sky Bet’s boxing betting spokesman Scott Springgay said: “Much has changed since Hopkins and Jones Jr’s first meeting. Hopkins seems to have a new lease of life since being beaten by Joe Calzaghe and seems in good form, whereas Jones Jr is coming off a devastating first round loss to Australian Danny Green.
“Many will now expect Hopkins to knock Jones out but a points victory is the most likely method for Hopkins to have his revenge.”
