Former Sheffield Wednesday boss Brian Laws has been appointed Burnley manager on a two-and-a-half-year contract today and Sky Bet are offering odds on when he will get his first win with the Clarets.
Burnley face league leaders Chelsea and Manchester United over the next month and Laws is 16/1 to get his first league win as a top flight manager at Old Trafford on Saturday. The former Clarets defender is 3/1 to oversee his first victory the week after against Owen Coyle’s new charges Bolton and 12/1 to taste victory first when Chelsea travel to Burnley on January 30th. Sky Bet make it most likely at 7/4 that Laws will have to wait until February 6th to get a first win when Burnley entertain West Ham. 7/2 is on offer for the Clarets not to win any of their next seven league games.
Burnley are just two points clear of the relegation zone and remain 5/6 to stay up this season (10/11 to be relegated) and Sky Bet set the line for their total season points haul at 36 (under 35.5 points 5/6, over 35.5 points 5/6 ).
Sky Bet’s football betting spokeswoman Helen Jacob said: “Laws faces a tough start to his tenure at Turf Moor with matches against both Manchester United and Chelsea and his best chance of picking up some points in January will be a trip to face predecessor Owen Coyle at the Reebok.”
