As speculation mounts that Owen Coyle is set to leave Turf Moor for the Reebok, Sky Bet have opened their next Burnley manager betting installing former Hammers boss Alan Curbishley and the Clarets’ first team coach Steve Davis as 4/1 joint favourites.
Sky Bet’s football betting spokesman Stewart Beesley said: “The town of Burnley is in shock as they await confirmation that they have lost their much worshipped manager, Owen Coyle.
“Of the frontrunners, Davis is ‘Mr Burnley’ but has no experience, while Curbishley has expertise in the top flight. Further down the list, former Sheffield Wednesday manager Brian Laws is an interesting candidate at 8/1 as Burnley had him as their original choice over Coyle.”
Sky Bet now make Coyle 1/7 to be appointed next Bolton manager, following the sacking of Gary Megson last week.”
