Jonny Wilkinson has been recalled to the England squad for the first time in 18 months and is set to face Australia at Twickenham on Saturday. Sky Bet go 13/8 that Wilkinson marks his comeback by scoring 17 points or more against the Wallabies.
Wilkinson is one of three World Cup winners in the side to face Australia and Sky Bet offer 2/1 that any of Wilkinson, Steve Thompson and Lewis Moody score a try (4/11 none of the three score a try). Sky Bet also offer 25/1 that the Toulon fly-half nets a full house of a try, conversion, penalty and drop goal against the Wallabies.
Five France-based players feature in England’s 22-man team, with Wilkinson, Thompson and Erinle joined by Stade Francais flanker James Haskell and Brive fly-half Andy Goode. It’s 5/1 with Sky Bet for any of these France-based players to open the tryscoring.
Sky Bet’s rugby union betting spokesman, Mike Triffitt, said: “Wilkinson is playing some of the best rugby of his career in the French league with Toulon. He is probably England’s best chance of victory and they need him to have his kicking boots on as Martin Johnson has named a fairly experimental and inexperienced team.”
Jordan Crane and Shane Geraghty will make their first Test starts and Sky Bet go 5/2 that either of them scores a try (2/7 neither to score a try).
England at 10/11 are given a three-point start against Australia for Saturday’s match and Martin Johnson’s men are 9/1 to win all three of their autumn internationals.
