CHICAGO - The cash-strapped state of Illinois could be getting some extra tax money.
The state Racing Board is expected to vote Tuesday on licensing three companies to accept online horse racing bets.
Racing board executive director Marc Laino said regulating the online bets could bring in more than $1.7 million in extra tax revenue for the state.
Laino said the measure would authorize electronic betting from computers, phones, interactive televisions and other mobile devices.
