Ryan Giggs was once again in blistering form for Manchester United last night, scoring his 150th goal for the club and supplying the pass for Michael Carrick’s match-winner. Sky Bet make Giggs an 8/1 chance to be named PFA Players’ Player of the Year for the second year running. He is 7/1 to be named Football Writers’ Footballer of the Year and 50/1 to win the public voted BBC Sports Personality of the Year award in December.

The veteran Red Devil, who has 11 league titles to his name, turns 36 in November and is 5/2 with Sky Bet to retire from competitive football by the end of next season. 5/6 is quoted for him to score five or more Premier League goals this season.
Sky Bet’s Neil Brookes said: “Giggsy seems to be rolling back the years with his performances this season. He's been back on his familiar left wing, terrorising defenders as he has done for years.
“With Ronaldo now in Madrid, the free kick responsibilities are being shared between Rooney and Giggs and this should see the United Legend getting his name on the score sheet more frequently.”
While Giggs basked in glory once more it was a different story for Michael Owen, whose chances of making the 2010 World Cup squad were dealt a blow after he suffered a groin injury. Sky Bet have lengthened Owen’s odds of heading to South Africa next summer to 13/8 (from 11/8) and he is now 4/9 not to feature in Capello’s squad.
