This weekend looks set to be another scorcher as temperatures are tipped to soar to the late teens in Dublin, while Heathrow is expected to be hotter again at as much as 24ºc.

On the back of the sunny bank holiday weather, bookies Paddy Power are offering odds on just how high temperatures will reach this weekend with up to 17ºc the red hot favourite in the betting at 7/4. It's slightly better odds of 3/1 that temperatures peak to between 18ºc and 19ºc.

Paddy Power have also slashed the odds on this Summer being the hottest summer ever recorded. It's now just 11/4 with the bookies that temperatures will peak to over 33.3ºc in 2007. The last time Irish temperature gauges went that high was at Kilkenny castle in June 1887!

Sharon McHugh, spokesperson for Paddy Power said: "It's still only early May and already we're reaching temperatures as high as 22ºc. At this rate we certainly look on target for a scorcher of a summer."
