ENGLAND are 6/1 to win the World Cup after booking their place in South Africa with an emphatic victory over Croatia last night (Weds).

And Fabio Capello’s side are evens to qualify with maximum points from their group.

The Three Lions are 3/1 to again exit the competition at the quarter final stage and 5/2 to be knocked out of the tournament on penalties.

Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: “England have come a long way under Capello. If the side can emulate the heroes of 1966 it will go down as one of the darkest days in bookmaking history. We are already having sleepless nights over the class of 2010”

Robert Green is 13/8 favourite to start in goal for the first game of the finals.
