Roberto Martinez has come in for support today at 25/1 to be the first Premier League boss to leave his post after Wigan were dumped out of the Carling Cup by Blackpool last night in a humiliating 4-1 defeat.
After getting off to winning ways with a 2-0 away victory at Aston Villa on the opening day of the league, the Latics have since suffered three successive defeats, conceding nine goals in the past two games. Sky Bet have cut Martinez to 14/1 to be the first casualty of the Premier League sack race.
Sky Bet’s Helen Jacob said: “After defeats by Wolves and Manchester United, Wigan were woeful in last night’s 4-1 thrashing by Blackpool and Martinez is already feeling the pressure.”
