Sky Bet have installed Joe Calzaghe as 9/2 favourite in their ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ betting and the Welsh boxing legend is 16/1 to be KO’d in the first round.

Sky Bet are also offering 33/1 that Calzaghe hits the canvas and falls flat on his back during his first, live routine and 50/1 for him to wear his gloves during any live dance.

Sky Bet’s reality TV betting expert, Helen Jacob, said: “Joe is our early favourite to box-trot his way to the final. Given his fancy footwork and the past success of sports personalities on Strictly, the boxing legend must have a fighting chance of victory.”

Other well known sporting personalities in the line-up this year include former cricketer Phil Tufnell (8/1), Olympic athlete Jade Johnson (11/1), and tennis ace Martina Hingis (6/1).

Two cast members of ‘Footballers’ Wives’ will be fighting it out on the dance floor and Sky Bet make Zoe Lucker 11/1 to win, while Laila Rouass is a 10/1 chance.

‘EastEnders’ is well represented among the celebs, with Natalie Cassidy available at 16/1 to win and Ricky Groves priced at 14/1.
