Australia, who closed day three on 80 for 0, are 7/2 to triumph with the draw available at 20/1.

Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: “The Aussies’ start will have done nothing to calm English nerves. But with plenty of runs in the bank punters are confident of victory for Andrew Strauss’ men.”
