England 4/1 to make three or more changes for Ashes decider

Following their dismal innings defeat at Headingley, England are under pressure to shake-up their batting order for the final Ashes Test and Sky Bet offer 4/1 that three or more changes are made to the Three Lions’ line-up at the Oval.

It’s 9/4 that just one change is made to the hosts’ team sheet, 2/1 for two changes and 5/2 that the make-up of the side remains the same.

Surrey veteran Mark Ramprakash is 4/1 with Sky Bet for a dramatic recall to the England squad at his home ground and he is 12/1 to bat at number three.

Under-pressure Ravi Bopara is 5/4 favourite to continue at number three, with Jonathan Trott, who was included in the squad at Leeds, available at 6/1 to play the pivotal position at the Oval. Kent captain Rob Key is 4/1 to step up at number three.

Marcus Trescothick has also been mentioned as a possibility to strengthen the middle-order and is 6/1 to make a comeback for the Oval Test.

Sky Bet’s Dale Tempest said: “Ramprakash has been in tremendous form at domestic level but his inclusion would go against everything the selectors have been trying to achieve with regard to consistency of squad selection.”
