England 7/2 To Record Their First Victory At Lord’s Since 1934

The 2nd Test from the home of English cricket gets underway tomorrow, live on Sky Sports 1 from 11:00am and Sky Bet are offering 7/2 for England to record their first win over Australia in an Ashes Test at Lord’s since 1934. Australia, who have won 14 of their 33 Test matches against England at Lord’s are 13/8 with the draw evens.

Sky Bet’s Tim Reynolds said, “It looks as if the weather will play another major role in the 2nd Test and Sky Bet customers have taken notice, with over 30% of the total stakes on the draw. We were originally 11/10 for the draw but with the five day forecast predicting rain on Friday and also over the weekend, Sky Bet customers have been quick to take the 11/10. We are now evens for the draw but it wouldn’t be a surprise to see the draw price go odds on by start of play tomorrow.”

After his 150 in Australia’s first innings, Ricky Ponting is 8/11 to outscore England’s Ravi Bopara in a first innings match bet and it’s 100/30 that the Australian captain is their leading batsman. From the other batsman match bets in the 2nd Test, the Australian opener Simon Katich is 4/5 to outscore England captain Andrew Strauss (10/11) and Michael Hussey, who was the only Australian batsman not to reach double figures in the first Test, is 5/6 to outscore Kevin Pietersen (5/6).
