Planet Hollywood Casino In Nevada To Pay Half Million Dollar Fine

Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino in Nevada finds themselves in hot water with Nevada gaming officials over illegal activity that has been taking place outside a nightclub. The club is privately owned, but Planet Hollywood is being hit with a large fine nonetheless.
The resort is being used as an example by regulators for the rest of the gaming industry. Planet Hollywood has agreed to pay a fine of $500,000. That is large, even by industry standards, and Planet Hollywood feels the penalty fits the crime.
"We didn't execute proper supervision and we're the message being sent to the rest of the industry," said Planet Hollywood's lawyer, Frank Schreck, to the Las Vegas Review-Journal. The Prive is the nightclub in question.
The club is accused of allowing minors inside. They also stand accused of taking drunk customers and dropping them in the casino. Physical and sexual assault has also taken place at the club, according to officials.
"Planet Hollywood took this matter seriously," said Randy Sayre, a Gaming Control Board member, "Sadly, they should have addressed some of these events sooner." The agreement to pay the fine has been put in place, but the Nevada Gaming Commission must still vote on whether or not to approve it.
