A multi-millionaire from Lancashire is planning to bring his booming gaming business on to terrestrial television and betting shops across Britain.
Martin Higginson, the founder and chief executive of NetPlay TV, said it could even sign a deal this week to install fixed-odds betting terminals for its roulette and bingo games in bookies.

It is also looking at taking advantage of a change in the rules from television industry regulator Ofcom to allow its live play programmes, which already show on satellite and digital channels, on terrestrial television.

NetPlay, which has its head office in Lancaster, yesterday revealed its revenues had soared by more than £10m in the past year.

Mr Higginson said: "It was always on the agenda to look at getting fixed-odds betting terminals into betting shops and we should have something signed on that by the end of the week.

"The rule changes around terrestrial television now allow for six hours a day coverage, so we are hoping to put our casino shows on perhaps after midnight.

"If we can pull that off it would be a major coup."

The firm saw an 118% increase in revenues up to £19.8m last year from just £9.1m in 2007 with pre-tax earnings move into positive territory from the £1.7m loss in 2007 to £2.4m this year.
