ASTANA STARS CONTADOR AND ARMSTRONG DOMINATE TOUR BETTING

Former 7 times champion Lance Armstrong is the 5-1 second favourite with Coral bookmakers to win this years Tour de France which gets under way on July 4th.
Armstrong, who hasn’t rode in the tour since winning the last of his titles in 2005 has had a mixed preparation, with a couple of competitive warm up events and a fall which resulted in a broken collar bone, has confirmed that he will definitely compete.

“Lance is a legend, and most cycling fans would love to see him make a winning Tour comeback, but after a couple of average warm ups and a few spills along the way, it will take an above average performance to make the top step on the Champs Elysees,” said Coral spokesman Gary Burton.

2007 Champion Alberto Contrador will line up alongside Armstrong for Team Astana and is the Even money with Coral to retain his crown and Britains Mark Cavendish is the odds on 10-11 favourite to continue his superb year by winning the sprinters Green Jersey.
