Dusk Til Dawn Poker Club boss Rob Yong insists it’s “business as usual” after speculation mounted earlier this week that his Nottingham based Poker Club may be in financial difficulty.

In a press release Mr Yong said: “Following on from some recent speculation, rumour and misquotes, I would like to make it absolutely crystal clear that there is no chance of us closing in the near future, or trading unlicensed to avoid paying higher taxes.

In reality, closing the doors would probably never happen, as a number of companies have registered an interest to acquire us, should we ever feel that the 'struggle' gets too much!”

Mr Yong went onto say that three key areas are harming the company’s profits; Non reclaimable VAT on running costs and capital expenditure, the re-evaluated business rates and gaming duty. All have contributed to increased costs at the club and have given Mr Yong and his team cause for concern.

Yesterday poker forums were busy with support for DTD Poker, which has gained a reputation of being “simply the best”.

One poster at a popular poker forum commented: "DTD is simply the best, their attention to detail makes them a class apart from any other Cardroom I've visited, worldwide. Long may it last."

Others went on to make a point that MP’s were doing their bit to make it as hard as possible for the DTD Poker Club to trade, in reference to gaming laws and tax increases imposed by Whitehall.
