Barry Betting Suspended

Sky Bet have suspended betting on Gareth Barry’s club at the start of next season following news that the Villa midfielder is in talks with Manchester City. Barry has been backed in from 6/5 to 4/9 today to join the Citizens.

Sky Bet’s Helen Jacob said: ”Barry has repeatedly said that he wanted to play for a top four club but it doesn’t look like Liverpool are prepared to meet the asking price. Over the past couple of days we’ve taken a steady stream of bets for Barry to move to City including a handful of large bets at 6/5, 4/6 and 4/9 today so we have shut the book.”

Barry is 12/1 with Sky Bet to be Manchester City’s top league scorer next season (bets void if he doesn’t start PL 09/10 with Man City).

Despite reports suggesting Kaka is set to follow Carlo Ancelotti to Chelsea, Sky Bet make the Brazilian 2/5 still to be playing for AC Milan at the start of next season. The playmaker is 3/1 to join Ancelotti in West London this summer and 5/1 to sign for Real Madrid.

In the winter transfer window, the 27-year-old appeared to be on the verge of a world-record switch to Manchester City before the deal collapsed and Sky Bet make him 16/1 to join the Eastlands outfit this summer.

Cristiano Ronaldo is also hitting the headlines today. Real Madrid's new director general, Jorge Valdano, insists he is unaware of an agreement to sign the Portuguese winger and Sky Bet make Ronaldo 5/2 to move to the Bernabeu club and 4/7 to remain at Manchester United.

Djibril Cisse is 4/6 with Sky Bet to join Spurs after confessing that he would welcome the chance to join the north Londoners. The striker, who was on loan at Sunderland last season, has failed to secure a permanent deal with the Black Cats and is 11/8 to return to Marseille.
