A PENSIONER has been banned from a bingo chain after taking pals on visits to a rival hall.

The "Anti Social Bingo Order" stops Rosalyn Clemson, 76, visiting more than 100 Mecca clubs nationwide.

The group claims she broke membership rules by arranging three outings to Club 2000 Bingo 15 miles away.

Devastated Rosalyn, of Chester, took up to 26 friends on the bus trips to Runcorn.

Rosalyn said yesterday: "The way Mecca reacted you would think I was some kind of spy or traitor. It's like they want to own us body and soul.

"It's so unfair - I did not even know about the rule they say I have broken. They have taken away everything I love."

The retired nurse, who began playing bingo in 1956, had attended the Mecca hall opposite her house for years.

Her husband Frank, 73, was also banned.

He said: "It's very upsetting for Rosalyn. It is playing on her mind all the time."

Mecca said that as well as organising the outings, Rosalyn had been "aggressive" towards a duty manager.

A spokesman said: "We can confirm that Mrs Clemson and her husband are not welcome in Mecca clubs."

He added: "I must stress that we do not take the decision to bar people lightly."
