With the world of football apparently shocked that an Everton fan might express some dislike for their deadly rivals, Liverpool, the media focus will be on Wayne 'I hate Liverpool' Rooney when Manchester United and Liverpool clash in their vital Premiership match.
'Extraordinarily, people appear to be dumbfounded that a fan of one club may not exactly admire that club's deadliest rivals' said William Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, 'But as a result of Rooney's less than startling observations there is great interest in whether he will start the game and how he will fare if he does.'
Hills are offering odds of 8/11 that he will play over 75 minutes of the game if he starts; 9/4 that Wayne will be carded during the match - 10/1 to be the first player carded in the game - and 20/1 that he is sent off, and they have also opened a book on how many minutes of the game he will complete if he starts:
How many minutes will Rooney play (Must Start)?
0-25 33/1

WITH THE OUTCOME of the race for the Championship title and promotion becoming increasingly difficult to predict, William Hill are offering 9/2 that the title will be decided on goal difference, and have issued a list of promotion odds and title 'straight forecasts'. 'There are at least ten teams still well in the running for the title or the play-offs and the early front-runners are now coming under severe pressure from the chasing pack, so it is becoming more and more difficult to predict who will eventually win automatic promotion and who will have to rely on the play-offs for a route to the Premiership' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe.
