A North East based Ladbrokes telephone customer has wagered £40,000 on Manchester United winning the Premiership.

As a result the Harrow-based firm are 1/ 2, from 4/7, about the champions retaining their title.

Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: “The Red Devils look unstoppable in all competitions at present.

“The punter in question has clearly seen enough to convince him that the title will remain in the Old Trafford trophy cabinet.”
