Aston Villa have been pushed out to 12/1, from 10/1, to win the UEFA Cup after being handed a tricky group at yesterday’s (Tues) draw in Nyon.

Portsmouth, who bagged a glamour game with Italian giants AC Milan, are 4/1 to top their group, whilst Manchester City and Aston Villa are 7/4 and 13/8 respectively.

Premiership basement boys Tottenham Hotspur are 7/4 to finish top of the pile in their section. Under fire boss Juande Ramos is 11/4 not to be at the helm for the Lilywhites' first game on 23 October.

Spurs are 100/1 to win the competition and get relegated.

Ladbrokes spokesman, Nick Weinberg, said: “Ramos will be hoping that the UEFA Cup provides him with some respite following a torrid start to the season. But there are question marks about whether he'll have the opportunity to turn things around.”

Villa are 2/1 favourites to go furthest, out of the present English contingent, whilst the Premiership is 9/4 to provide the winner.
