High-flying Hull City are 9/4 to earn a top ten finish in the Premier league following their stunning start to the season.

Phil Brown's men, who are third in the table after seven games, were odds on favourites to be relegated after their play-off final win in May.

But their impressive performances so far have defied the critics and made bookmakers including Ladbrokes think again.

Hull are now 6/5 with the firm to stay up, 8/11 to be the top promoted club, 50/1 to finish in the top five....and an unlikely 2000/1 to lift the title.

Ladbrokes spokesman Robin Hutchison said: "Hull are actually the worst result in our book on the league winner after being initially quoted at 7,500/1.

"We're not too worried about that yet, but their results have made everybody in football sit up and take note."

Michael Owen is 7/4 to not play for England again under Fabio Capello and 11/4 to break Sir Bobby Charlton's scoring record.
