FOR THE FIRST time ever bookmakers William Hill are letting their customers set their own odds about whether an event will happen.
After taking dozens of calls about the chances of the world ending when a scientific experiment involving black holes, takes place next week, Hills have announced that they are happy to take such bets.
'We are offering a set price of 1,000,000/1 about the world ending before the end of this year and have already taken half a dozen bets - but we are happy to permit customers to decide on their own odds, should they wish' said Hill's spokesman Graham Sharpe, 'You might say that for us this is a risk free bet - but I remain convinced that there will be betting shops in the hereafter where punters can collect their winnings. They will only ever offer winning bets and be staffed by bookies serving out their time in purgatory!'
Hills say that the last time they were asked for bets about the end of the world was when the solar eclipse took place.
