With Christmas looming, long cold nights drawing in and the scare mongers of the press dragging us all down with talks of the Euro crisis and double dip recessions it’s time to focus on something with a bit of sparkle….. The Premier League!

What an interesting season it has been with the financial powerhouse that is Manchester City still unbeaten and currently claiming the top spot as we head into the business end of the season. Arsenal after an awful start to their campaign have turned it around with their super striker Robin Van Persie, Newcastle being unbeaten during a great spell with full credit going to Alan Pardew, Chelsea finally beginning to win after AVB’s attacking ways have been called in to question of late, Liverpool looking set to climb the table after King Kenny’s resurgence and Manchester United weathering an uncharacteristic grey spell which has seen them demoted to the Europa league and as I write sitting 2nd in the table maintaining a threat due to the depth in the squad and the experience of Sir Alex.

As a Liverpool fan even I must admit the most exciting team for me this season with their consistent performances and ability on the park is Harry’s Hotspurs. They play very cohesively as a unit and after an excellent run in the champions league last year I would like to see them finish in the top four and Harry to do his duty for his country when Capello stands down. With 10 points separating the top four and 5 between City and United can the City be caught? Will they throw the lead away? As we all know the beauty of the premiership is it’s not over until it’s over and I for one will be looking forward to the Christmas fixtures!
