Having a couple of days ill feeling sorry for myself last week meant I got the chance to properly set-up and play with my iPad and find all the apps that I really should be using. Naturally, the first port of call was gambling… so I downloaded the few apps that I could find, namely Betfair, Betdaq, Paddy Power and Ladbrokes.

The first thing that surprised me is that there are so few to choose from at this stage, but I imagine that will change rapidly in coming months. There is clearly a long way to go for all four that I downloaded, but it’s great to see that we are off the ground and running with some tablet gambling fun. My prediction – online betting will be almost entirely covered by Phone and Tablet in the very near future, but that’s not exactly a revelation that nobody has suggested already!

I’m not going to pick winners and losers at this stage, mainly because I haven’t played with them enough but also because I want to wait a couple of months until there are more options and competition, so watch this space!

In other news, I’ve just got off the crutches after battering all my ligaments stupidly trying to play football, London has gone mad and I’ve developed an irrational love of Special K Bars…
