It’s been 3 weeks since I last blogged, it seems like 3 days… time travels fast when you’re having f… busy! Aside from recruitment first off, I enjoyed a day out at the Rugby 7’s @ Twickenham a couple of weeks ago, which was interesting to say the least. We had a group of about 20 guys dressed up as umpa lumpa’s on a stag do pitched up next to where we were having a picnic, who decided it would be a laugh to set up tag rugby against a bunch of 13 year old lads, need I say more? It got a bit messy, by the end it was a few blokes, not wearing much, running around using a green wig as a Rugby Ball; still, it was entertainment!
On another sporting note, as Alex mentioned in his last blog we’ve recently set up the Hyperion 5-a-side team, to be managed by my good self. Well, to be honest, I’m the player-coach-manager as nobody else seems to want the responsibility of running around half hour before the game each week trying to drag someone off the street to make up the numbers. Trials have been going on this week, with my fitness causing a bit of a problem (my skill, quality and ability is fantastic of course).
In terms of recruitment, where were we last time? We had just had in the region of 25 new roles; naturally some of them we’ve now filled, some have been closed off and many are on-going. More interestingly, I’ve recently filled a Mobile User Experience Developer position, which has proven very demanding as it isn’t an area that I’ve had large exposure to previously… I’m glad I did, these guys are seriously bright. The kind of apps, designs and user experience that are out there if you know where to look are quite incredible, and it’s opened my eyes to the world of Mobile much more! So as Hyperion moves on through Q3 2011, I am diving into the realms of Mobile Technology head first, watch this space…
