28th July, 16 days to go till our next iGaming drinks night, the rather tongue twisting “Online Gaming Links Drinks”. We would call it something different, but the group is run off the back of our Linkedin Group.

Typically there are normally 140-160 people on the list, though nearer the time there are always a few disappointments as we have to limit the numbers, also its counterproductive to have two dozen people from the same company request to come along (sadly this actually happened with Party Gaming last time). Always a pain having to relay bad news, but such is life.

The first two events have been very popular, and have been co-sponsored by Ukash, Clarion and Call Credit Group. Essentially any sponsorship goes “behind the ramp” and helps fund the free bar. Ideally we try to keep the free drinks on the go until 11pm. The craic is people from iGaming come along, drink free beers, wine and tequila shots, talk a bit of shop and then get pissed. For now my job is partly done, the sponsors are on board, Calvin Ayre’s Becky is attending to report on it, and we have booked a “wicked” venue in Clerkenwell. Alex told me recently that kids don’t say “wicked” anymore, perhaps I should shake out of my vocabulary? This week is on the admin grind, this means putting all the attendees into an excel sheet, and the week after we will start typing out the name badges. Glad got Dita and James to help with it all.
