New WBO Light Heavyweight World Champion Nathan Cleverly is 1/5 with Sky Bet to beat Tony Bellew after previous opponent Juergen Braehmer was forced out of the fight through injury and vacate his title.

Late replacement Bellew has stepped up to the mark to take on Cleverly and the Commonwealth Light Heavyweight Champion is 10/3 to cause an upset at the 02 Arena.

However, Cleverly is 8/11 to stop Bellew within 12 rounds and 8/13 to knock Bellew down. Sky Bet’s boxing expert Scott Springgay expects Cleverly to prevail, but reckons Bellew could be an unpredictable challenge for the Welshman.

He said: “Bellew has a puncher’s chance but he has been knocked down three times in his last two fights.

“Coming into this fight at such short notice will be difficult and rumours are abound that he is half a stone over the limit so he is certainly up against it.”

He added: “Bellew has a big punch and Cleverly had been training for a totally different type of fight, so Bellew does have an outside chance of causing a massive upset on the night.”
