Judd Trump has been slashed to 33/1 by Sky Bet to win the Snooker World Championship after his first ranking event victory over Mark Selby at the China Open at the weekend.
Selby has also seen his odds shorten to 11/2 after a high quality final which included six century breaks. John Higgins remains the favourite at 5/1 but will not be relishing his first round match against in-form Stephen Lee who beat Mark Williams in round one despite the Welshman making four centuries and a 50 break in the best of nine frames.
Higgins is 2/7 to beat Lee and a Higgins Trump final is now 55/1. Trump is now just 6/4 from 2/1 to beat defending champ Robertson who was beaten 5-1 by Peter Ebdon in China.
Sky Bet snooker trader Andy Thorp said: “Trump is obviously the man in form after his first tournament win but he is not the only player in form with the likes of Selby, Higgins, Williams and Lee showing some fantastic form of late. I would not like to call the winner but I would say that this year’s championship will arguably be the highest quality ever.”
Sky Bet pitch total centuries at 70.5 with odds of 5/6 under or over that mark and they also bet 11/8 that there will be one maximum 147 break, 6/1 that there will be two or more and 5/6 that there will be none at all.
