Nick Easter looks set to lead England in Lewis Moody’s absence according to Ladbrokes.

He is just 1/25 to take over from the injured Moody against Wales with Mike Tindall a 9/1 chance for the armband.

The bookies expect Moody to be fit and back in charge for the opening game of the World Cup as he is 4/9 to lead England out against Argentina.

Alex Donohue of Ladbrokes said: “Tindall appears the only feasible alternative to Easter as it looks like he will be the skipper for the Wales game. Should Moody be back to fitness for the World Cup he will surely resume captaincy then if not sooner.”
